Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah confirmed the martyrdom of eight of its fighters following Israeli airstrikes that targeted the Bekaa Valley on the night of February 20, 2026. The Israeli aerial assault, which violates UN Charter provisions on state sovereignty and the prohibition of aggression, also left a number of Lebanese civilians dead and wounded.
Hezbollah’s Islamic Resistance officially released the names of its eight martyrs:
- Hussein Mohammed Yaghi (Abu Ali Sadeq), born 1984, Baalbek
- Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Mousawi (Ali Hussein), born 1980, Nabi Sheet
- Ali Zaid Al-Mousawi, born 1990, Nabi Sheet
- Hussein Khairallah Ala Al-Din (Ridwan), born 1989, Hermel
- Ahmad Hussein Al-Haj Hassan, born 1987, Shaath
- Qassem Ali Mahdi (Abd Al-Muttalib), born 1981, Ali Al-Nahri
- Ahmad Mohammed Zuaiter (Al-Ashtar), born 1996, Raiha

The Bekaa Valley, a predominantly civilian region in eastern Lebanon, has been subjected to repeated Israeli bombardments in violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions. The overnight strikes drew widespread condemnation and reignited urgent calls for international accountability.
